The Foreplay series of releases were sent to stores to promote upcoming albums by A&M artists. These twelve inch white label promotional records contained one or two songs from several A&M artists. In some cases, edited version of two songs by one artist are blended together to form one track.Some of the Foreplay releases come with extra goodies. Such is the case with Foreplay # 27 shown above which contains a booklet with information on each artist. Additionally, the record contains a narrated introduction to the songs on the album. Listed below are the stock numbers, album titles, and the titles of Head East songs contained on each release of all known Foreplay releases containing Head East songs: SP 17000 - Foreplay # 5 - Man I Wanna Be, I'm Feelin' Fine SP 17059 - Foreplay # 14 - Never Been Any Reson (Live), Take A Hand (Live) SP 17107 - Foreplay # 27 - Hard Drivin' Days, Keep A Secret SP 17124 - Foreplay # 36 - You'll Be The One, Baby Ruth SP 17009 - A&M Major Electives - Get Up & Enjoy Yourself / Since You Been Gone Though this is not part of the numbered Foreplay series, it is a pre-relese sampler much like the Foreplay releases. It was sent to colleges and universities to encourage them to book Head East and the other A&M artists who appear on this release. The album contained a "Book Em' Booklet" with information on Head East and the other A&M artist. The album also included 4 bookmarks with band member pictures on them.
The Head East Radio Sampler contains songs from Head East's
first three albums. The front cover art contains a photo that was used
in ads promoting both their self-titled 4th release on A&M Records and
the single, Since You Been Gone.
The back cover shows the titles of the eight songs contained in this release and black and white images of the first three albums above a color image of the upcoming self-titled album. This image (on the right) of the upcoming self-titled album differs slightly from the actual cover art used when the self-titled release was issued, and may have been a preliminary design. (image is inverted and the words 'Head East' are in a different location)

SP 17065 Top Tracks 1979 Side 1 - Take A Hand, Love Me Tonight Side 2 - Never Been Any Reason, Gettin' Lucky, Get Up & Enjoy Yourself Allegiance Records issued a 12 inch white label single in 1982 promoting two songs from the Onward and Upward album. This release (PRO-432) was sent to radio stations in a plain white jacket stamped with the following: Head East Limited 12" Radio Edition "I'm Coming Home". The track listing is shown below:
Side 1 - I'm Coming Home (full length version) Side 2 - I'm Coming Home (edited), Onward And Upward (full length version) Allegiance Records also issued a 7 inch, 45 rpm white label single of I'm Coming Home. This release (stock # 3901) has an edited stereo version of I'm Coming Home on both sides of the record.
A&M Records 7 inch 45 rpm white label promo records
that were sent to radio stations contained the same song on each side
of the record. One side (printed in red text - shown to the left)
was recorded in stereo, and the other side (printed in black text - shown below) was recorded in mono.
They used the same stock numbers as stock singles sent to stores
for commercial sale. The one song included on the promo copy was the
song considered to be the "A" side or main song on the stock single.
(Note - Head East A&M label singles were not marked with side A or B, or side 1 or 2)

In 1976 the Presbyterian Church issued a Public Service 45 rpm record intended for religious broadcasts as part of the "What's It All About" series. The record contains segments of the Head East songs, Love Me Tonight, Never Been Any Reason, and Brother Jacob, and a short interview with John Schlitt.
