Head East songs have been used in movies on at least two other occasions. This is second time that Never Been Any Reason has been included in a major motion picture release, with the first time being the 1993 film Dazed and Confused. The song was also included in the Even More Dazed and Confused Soundtrack CD which was released in 1994. The movie and the CD soundtrack are available through most movie and music retail outlets. The 1979 film J-Men Forever included two songs from Head East's self-titled 4th album (Man I Wanna Be and Get Up & Enjoy Yourself). This film parody by members of the Firesign Theatre comedy troop contains songs from several other aritst who were signed to the A&M Records label at the time. The film was originally released in VHS format and went out of print for several years before it was reissued in DVD format in 2002. The DVD is available through most online movie retailers (like Barnes & Nobles and Amazon.com). A soundtrack CD for the movie has never been issued.
5) Lyrics - The words to 'Dance Away Lover' from 'Head East (self-titled)' © 1978 Almo Music Corp. / Zuckschank Music, Inc. (ASCAP)
Dance Away Lover
Day and night - sittin' alone
Didn't know it was all a mask
I remember the night you captured my soul
Like the dreams you danced away
Leading me on every step of the way *** Instrumental Break ***
Day and night I'm sittin' alone
I didn't know it was all a mask
Dance away, dance away lover 6) Head East T-Shirts - Commemorating 30 Years Of Flat As A Pancake
7) Mail - stories and comments from Head East fans. A military member stationed in southern California writes - "I remember, it was my first concert. I was a teenager and worked for KQHU FM a small radio station in Yankton, South Dakota. The station hosted a concert by Head East in the late 70's. Mr. Boyd and the gang rocked the whole sleepy town. It was absolutely phenomenal. I have since given up being a DJ and have spent nearly the last 27 years in the military. Now as I near the end of my military career, I often I wonder what it would be like to return to spinning discs with classics of the likes of Head-East. I just wanted to say that it was an awesome experience to meet all the members of the band and be a part of rock and roll history. Thank you!"
