Flying By Night

This CD was scheduled to be a re-issue of the 1999 release Concert Classics Volume 7 and would have been available as an import release in late 2001 or early 2002. However, N.M.C. Music of London England stopped production prior to any copies being made commercially available, citing concerns about licensing and the fact that Concert Classics Volume 7 was still on the market. Some online auction sites and music retail sites occasionally have promotional copies of this CD listed for sale. The proposed cover art for this CD is shown above, and the proposed liner notes for this CD are shown below. Note that they acknowledge that the songs heard on these recordings are from two separate concerts and two different line-ups of the band (facts that were excluded from the liner notes of Concert Classics Volume 7).

Proposed liner notes:  "The classic US mid-west rock band are captured here recorded live on two separate dates in the early eighties in Denver. Formed in 1969 in Ilinois by brothers Larry and Roger Boyd, John Schlitt and Steve Huston, the band went through line-up changes before settling on the band that would take them through their first six albums. In 1975 the band released their first major label debut "Flat As A Pancake" on A& M which over the next few years racked up sales of 500,000 copies and was certified Gold." "Recorded live in 1980 (Tracks 1- 5) featuring the original line-up, and live in 1981 (Tracks 6-15) which feature Dan Odum (vocals) replacing John Schlitt." * (Note from webmaster- The original members of Head East are Roger Boyd, Larry Boyd, Steve Huston, John Schlitt, and Dan Piper.
