Biographical Sketch: Roger Boyd grew up
in Carlyle, Illinois. He is a founding member of Head East
and has been it's keyboardist and leader for more than three decades. He
started piano lessons at an early age, and went on to play trumpet in the
school band . Roger is known for his "stories" on stage that tell the history
behind many Head East classics such as Brother Jacob and Jefftown Creek.
He is also known for strapping on his mini moog and flying across the
stage during the finale of Never Been Any Reason (captured in some of the
photos below). In 2005, Roger competed his doctorate degree in public policy studies at St. Louis University and is now an associate professor in the Department of Social Work at Southern Illinois University Edwardsville. |
